Enhanced protection provided by ScarGuard over HTLP-PP & 3LPP

Another fantastic ScarGuard project was completed by our Middle East Service Team in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates for client Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC).

Solution

Known for product performance, ease-of-installation and project excellence, new Client / SNOC selected Canusa-CPS on a short notice to supply & apply HDD product on their pipelines.

The Middle East Technical Support team worked to supply the first global project of SCG-E over 3LPP Coated pipes & HTLP-PP sleeves.

The project involved the wrapping of SCG-E for 60 meters x 3LPP coated pipes and 7 x HTLP-PP field joints (1.8 meter each) = approx. 12.75 OD x 73 meters in total.

The whole section for the HDD was 156 meters but the SCG-E coated section was on the tail end of the pull. Reason being, the initial 7 x Line pipes had a 3LPP coating of about 3 mm and the tail end 60 meters SCG-E wrapped scope had a 3LPP coating of 2 mm. ScarGuard provided additional protection to the tail end.

This project was a fantastic integration success involving 2 brands of Canusa-CPS’s ScarGuard E and Covalence HTLP-PP.
